Newmark Grubb ACRES is pleased to announce the lease of 21,538 square feet of office space located in the Gateway Tech Center at 155 North 400 West, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Chris Falk of Newmark Grubb ACRES represented the lessee, Spring Mobile, in this transaction. The lessor, KBSIII, was represented by CBRE’s Nadia Letey.
Spring Mobile is an industry leading wireless solutions retailer operating 430 stores in 25 states across the country. Since starting as a local business 14 years ago they have expanded to be the second largest AT&T dealer in America and now have over 1,500 employees nationwide. Spring Mobile is owned by GameStop and is part of GameStop’s Technology Brands Division, which includes both Spring Mobile and Simply Mac.
This new downtown location will be used as the company’s corporate headquarters, a move that will not only allow the company to maintain their local presence but to support further growth as well. Speaking on the move the lessee commented, “Spring has long been a community supporter, and we are excited to move our HQ closer to the many improvements that have been made to downtown Salt Lake City. While searching for the new location we were specifically looking for convenience for our employees and with this site the access to public transit is unprecedented, as is the proximity to the airport and freeway.”
Regarding the transaction, Mr. Falk remarked, “This location is the creation and result of months of work and internal analysis in coordination with Spring. What they’ll now have is an HQ location that incorporates unbeatable transit access, parking, and amenities in a very modern and progressive setting with characteristics unlike any other space in Salt Lake City. The employees and future growth of the company were always their main concerns and this space will reflect nothing less – an amazing place to come to work each day.”
